C4 - Integrated Security System
C4 is an integrated security system that provides a centralized multiuser solution for building security management. It provides users with a wide range of tools for:
- Centralized security systems management;
- Security system visualization and monitoring;
- Security process automation;
- Security information analysis and evaluation;
- Central identity management; and
- Crisis management support.
C4's network architecture enables multiple users to share information from security systems. This feature improves the efficiency of a company's system management and support.
C4 system is an open modular system that makes it possible to adjust the installation according to the customer's requirements - from simple monitoring systems for a single building to robust, large enterprise solutions that monitor various security devices in multiple buildings, regardless of the distance between them.
C4 also works under different platforms of the Microsoft Windows operating system. For basic installations C4 allows the use of the Windows Vista. In case of large-scale installations C4 to the highest extent utilizes abilities of the Windows Server 2008 operating system. Data management for C4 is provided by the MS SQL Server 2008 database system which also allows for wide range of performance customization.
The core of C4's integrated security system enables further expansion of the application.
The design of the C4 system architecture enables the timely integration of security systems used for building security. The C4 system is able to integrate access authorization systems, electronic security devices, electronic fire alarms, or camera systems from various manufacturers, which are required by our customers and partners in their projects. The integration is done via drivers that are able to communicate with the device.
The openness of the C4 system is an advantage when integrating the company information systems via connectors. These serve to interconnect a company's personnel systems and identity servers, and its parking, attendance and other information systems.
The C4 system, with its monitoring module, can interconnect with geographic information systems, which can provide detailed information when dealing with crisis situations. A good example of this is is the ability to display electrical installation, piping and air conditioning in an area in which the C4 system has detected a security alert. Data can be acquired online, upon request, from a GIS data server.
The C4 integrated security system communicates via a web services interface. This interface makes it possible to integrate various functionalities used in the C4 Client application via third party utilities and applications. For example, after receiving information about a truck's arrival, the system can control the ramp via a warehouse system.
C4 provides an SDK support package that enables users to develop drivers externally.
Security Device Monitoring
C4 provides a single environment to monitor and control all security devices. This system significantly reduces the training costs of operating personnel. It is not necessary for all users to know all the details about every security system they control. Permission settings, issuing orders to devices and other actions are performed for all security devices in the same way, regardless of the device or its manufacturer. Single devices are controlled in parallel from a central server, which means that the devices do not affect each other. The amount of operated devices and client stations that are operating the devices is limited only by server performance.
Online status monitoring of connected devices is included in every edition of the system. The user can view the status of the device immediately after it is connected to the system.
The C4 server provides all of the operations needed to directly operate a device. The server part of the application manages system setup, obtains devices status data, directly controls devices and other related tasks. This concept significantly increases the stability and security of the whole solution.
The C4 system's operation requires a computer with a Windows XP SP2 operating system or newer. Client installation is performed by technology that makes it possible to install and subsequently upgrade even remote computers, without the need for an administrator's supervision. This simplification lowers the costs of administering a C4 system.
Security Processes Automation
Several levels of the C4 application raise the efficiency of security processes and implement automation.
For resolving incidents, the monitoring module provides the option to set optimal procedures. The asset management module makes it possible to obtain detailed information about the building and its surroundings.
The automatic actions module makes it possible to easily predefine extensive processes, which should be automatically executed by the server, without the need for intervention by personnel, should the situation for which the process was predefined occur.
Regarding the fire alarm systems, the C4 system provides support tools for regular system inspections and checkups.
Security Information Evaluation
In case of an emergency, dispatchers can use the C4 system emergency guidelines management to obtain enough information for an adequate response. The system stores confirmations about guideline execution and adds it to the event log for future analysis.

The application acts as a single entity and provides the user with all the information regarding the selected building. The user can easily access information about specific setup or events that deal with a selected person, event, or device, or information that is connected in any way to the selected building.
Central Identity Management
The C4 integrated system provides effective management of personal identification information of persons through the monitoring devices. Its centralized database includes all available identificator types (access cards, codes, fingerprints, etc.) that are used within the company.
C4 enables unified personnel management for all technologies. The user uses a single interface to view settings for device access rights that have been assigned to various persons.
Personnel management is designed to cover various technologies with varying functionalities and operating parameters. The user can view this information through a unified interface. This enables the user to easily manage the hierarchical access permissions. The user can set up access permissions for specific doors or readers without worrying about what codes or cards the specific door accepts or how this information gets to the specific device. The C4 system deals with these questions automatically.
Multiple Time Zone Operation Support
The system is able to operate in multiple time zones. Each device and user can operate in a different time zone, and the C4 system automatically converts all calculations to ensure a natural and intuitive working environment.
Multiple Language Operations Support
Each user can select a language in which to communicate with the C4 system. This setting is independent from the settings of other users. The basic edition of C4 supports Slovak, Czech and English. Support for other languages is continuously being added, according to the requirements of our partners and customers.

C4 is an open modular system that can be implemented in small, local network applications, as well as in large ones.
To maintain system effectiveness in large installations, the cooperation of various sections of the company (personnel department, security, IT, senior management, etc.) is required. C4 supports the necessary cooperation by instituting a zero client licence charge. This means that the number of clients is limited only by server performance.
